Maison Martin Margiela is announcing its new web site, starting from june 2012, thru a short but interesting video accompanied by words from T.A.Z.the most important book written by the writer, poet and anarchist Hakim Bey .
The web site is not the only piece of news about MMM: there will be a new female fragrance to be realised in july 2012: Replica.
The label on the bottle is like the one they fix inside their replica clothes, every MMM collection includes at least 4 or 5 replica garments and shoes. It is supposed to be the bottled scent of a summer day at the sea in 1972 and i'm really looking forward to put my hands, but mostly my nose, on one of those bottles as soon as possible!!!!
Androgynous style seems to be back, well maybe it has never been out, but with the release of the new video "ANDROGYNE" by the ioulex photography duo for the magazine Dossier Journal and starring the stunnig belgian model Hannelore Knuts, the trend seems to be back stronger then ever. The ioulex duo, formed by the model herself and the costume designer Christiane Hultquist aka Christian Joy, released this video, that has been inspired by the writings of the french artist Claude Cahun who worked on the concept of "gender" already at the beginning of 1900

Born in China, based in London, graduated at Central St. Martin , Yang Du, carries us to a journey thru a surrealistic world full of animals and childhood memories. The style of Amy Winehouse has been the inspiration to Jean Paul Gaultier for his S/S 12 Haute Couture Collection shown in Paris few days ago.
The iconic hair do has been declined in different colors and the make up was focused on the heavy black eyeliner that Amy used to wear
The outfits were named after her songs titles and a band of four guys sang her songs at the end of the show.
The unfogettable Amy with her " bad girl-50s rock style" was already a muse for Karl Lagerfeld that wanted her singing at his after show parties and she has been copied by hundreds of girls around the world.
It is nice to be finally back to my blog after a while and it is even nicer to be back with what i consider a good news.
The good news is "UNO" the SS/12 collection by the talented italian designer Lucio Vanotti. Lucio is based in Milan and he is one of my favourite guy there. I love his style: minimal with a twist
He designs clothes that are never out of time, you could wear his pieces one season after another and never get tired of them
He pays high attention to materials and takes good care about details that make the difference
He designs for both men and women, creating an imagine which is unique and contemporary
The video for "UNO" is a real pleasure for the eyes
The designer, that worked at Haider Ackermann and AF Vandevorst, focuses her work on the handcraft and the use of particular tecniques, such as the macramè, to create a modern silhouette with garments that look fantastically unique.
So i'd like to crown Jantine Van Peski as the best graduate of 2011 from the Antwerp Royal Academy of Fine Art that has already given us many fantastic fashion designers and, i'm sure, we will see many more in the future.
What i like the most of the end of the year is that everybody is making a list of "best of...": radios play best albums, best songs, best bands. Fashion magazines show best collections, best designers, best (or worst) dressed celebrities etc. etc. So i also decided to make my own list for the "best of 2011".
I'll start with the best accessory (and idea) of the year that, in my opinion, are the amazing clutches made by the french artist/designer/dj and it girl Olympia Le-Tan I insanely love the small embroidered clutches in the shape of classic novels
And i loved even more the beautiful stop motion film, made by Spike Jonze, entitled "MourirAprèsde Toi" that tells the love story between two characters from two different books and that i definitely crown as the "best video of 2011". You can see the whole video here: DON'T MISS IT!!!!

Ok, here we are: we can pretend nothing is going on but... yes it's that time of the year: Christmas!!!! Somebody hates it: it makes them feel blue, somebody becomes crazy rushing around to find the right gift for everybody. On my side i don't hate it nor love it but i definitely like the decorations, expecially trees and lights on the streets and in the houses!!!
Talking about Christmas trees i'd like to share this video by Lanvin that shows a huge tree in the hall of the luxury Claridge Hotel in London. I think that the dolls starring in this video are simply cute and Alber Elbaz,featuring himself as doll, shows a sweet sense of humor.

It seems like everybody is talking about Threeasfour in these days, i see them every time i open a fashion magazine or a web site: well it means that i'm not the only one obsessed by them :) In the post "3as4 once again!!!" i told you about the exhibit that is going on in Tel Aviv and the video that was going to be realised. What's new in my iTunes music library? Well, in the last few days i've been constantly listening to "Crazy Clown Time" the new (and first) album by David Lynch.
I'm a huge Lynch fan: i love the weird and disturbed atmosphere of his films, i like his drawings, his poems and guess what? I like his album!!! The music, in Lynch's films, plays an important role and the director himself has always collaborated with the composers for creating that kind of "Lynch sound": do you remember Twin Peaks soundtrack? "Crazy Clown Time" is definitely soaked in that kind of atmosphere, it makes me think of Mulholland Drive and, of course, the above mentioned Twin Peaks.
"Good day Today" is one of my favorite songs of the album: i like the electronic-kind-of-kraut-rock effect of his voice, maybe also a little "Daft Punk".....
Yesterday i spent a really pleasant evening: i went with some friends to hear a band called "Hobocombo" www.hobocombo.com The band was put together by Andrea Belfi on drums, percussions, harmonica and voice; Francesca Baccolini on double bass and voice; Rocco Marchi on electric guitar, lap steel, corgi ms 10 and voice. The three young italian musicians set up "Hobocombo" about a year ago to play the music of Moondog the musician, composer and inventor, that choose to live and perform on the streets of New York City for 30 years between the late 40s and 1974. The interpretation of the Moondog's music by the "Hobocombo" trio is simply brilliant. The trio takes you by the hand and carries you to an enchanting journey thru the magic music of the great composer.
One reason why i love this band, beside their good music of course, is that Andrea Belfi was born and raised in my city and i remember him as a kid that used to come to the records store where i worked at that time. I've always been impressed by his tastes in music, that where quite avant garde for a kid of his age, and the amazing style of his outfits. Today Andrea lives in Berlin, he still wears amazing outfits and, as an artist, he seems to have many good ideas clear in his head. So, yesterday night i went home happy and very grateful to the "Hobocombo" trio for such a beautiful gig. Of course i bought their cd "Now that it's the opposite, it's twice upon a time", realised by the italian label Trovarobato (www.trovarobato.com) and of course i put it in my iPod and, this morning, i got out with the music loud in my ears on a beautiful sunny morning.
The light was so unusually bright for a winter day that i decided to take my camera with me and take some pics.
There's a Ginkgo biloba which is a kind of celebrity in my town so i went to pay my tribute to its gorgeous foliage

Angela Donhauser, Gabriel Asfour and Adi Gil have been inspired by the symbols of Israeli and Palestinian culture such as Kaffiyeh, Mag David, Shofar, hamsa and evil eye to create impressive prints and decoration.
I
think they have been quite brave to face the Middle East problems thru
fashion especially in these times when the word "Peace" seems so far
away to become real in that part of the world.
The
three designers themselves are an example of interesting and brilliant
meeting between different cultures: libanese, israeli and russian.
Well, fashion won't save the world but a collection like this
sounds as a good auspice, or at least a hope, for a peaceful dialogue
between people.
